This position is located within the DCSS Operations Unit and focuses on collaborating with out-of-state child support agencies to establish and enforce child support orders. The Child Support Specialist I works closely with the Department of Justice, Family Court, and partner agencies in Delaware and other states. Responsibilities include customer interaction in person, by phone, email, and in court settings, as well as conducting research and managing cases using the Delaware Automated Child Support System and other government databases.
Upon satisfactory completion of department promotional standards and job requirements, employees may be eligible to be promoted to the next level.

This position is a classification organized under an exclusive bargaining representative (labor organization) that has been elected by employees as their representative for collective bargaining and other applicable terms and conditions of employment, in accordance with Title 29, Chapter 59 and Title 19, Chapter 13 and 16. This position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement based on its individual terms.
