Within the County organization, the Child Support Agency administers the Child Support Enforcement Program in partnership with federal, state, and local government. The agency works to ensure that parents fulfill their financial and medical support obligations to promote the well-being of children and families.
Core functions include establishing paternity, setting child support and health insurance orders, collecting support payments, enforcing compliance through administrative or legal actions, and recovering funds owed to the State of Wisconsin for certain public benefits.

This position supports Door County's child support enforcement program by conducting administrative and investigative work to ensure the establishment, modification, and enforcement of court orders. The role involves interpreting legal documents, handling sensitive financial data, and maintaining compliance with federal and state regulations. It requires effective communication, confidentiality, and adherence to procedures within a legal and regulatory environment.
Work is primarily performed in an office setting, with extensive time spent using a computer and telephone. The role requires sitting for extended periods, occasional movement between workstations or departments, and lifting paper files or office supplies up to 10 pounds. The position involves frequent verbal communication and the ability to see and interpret data on a screen or in print.
In an effort to provide for continuity of County government and to cope with the problems of the emergency, you may be required to work during a proclaimed state of emergency, consistent with Sec. 323.14, Wis. Stats. and County emergency management plans and programs.
