Job summary

Texas Attorney General's Child Support Division seeks a CSO IV/V to locate absent parents, establish paternity, and enforce support obligations. You will handle investigations, negotiate lump sums, and monitor cases with a team of professionals.

Role requires knowledge of child support policies, strong communication, and the ability to work in person at the OAG office. Notary duties and training may be involved to support case actions.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or equivalent.
• Bachelor's degree; substitution allowed for coursework/experience.
• Two years of full-time experience in child support, investigations, or related fields.
• Knowledge of investigative practices and child support policies.
• Strong interviewing, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Ability to work in person at the OAG location and manage multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Conduct in-office investigations to locate absent parents and verify employment.
• Establish or enforce child support obligations and assist in paternity actions.
• Prepare legal/administrative documents, negotiate settlements, and monitor cases.
• Utilize ChAMP and ECM tools to document actions and maintain files.
• Respond to customer inquiries and provide accurate case status information.
