Job summary

Administrative Office of the Courts in Albuquerque, NM is recruiting for a full-time, at-will Child Support Hearing Officer for the Juvenile Justice Center. The selected candidate will perform Hearing Officer/Special Master duties and help shape policies for efficiency and compliance with laws and Supreme Court Rules.

The position requires a J.D. from an accredited law school and NM license, with at least three years of practice and knowledge of Children’s Court matters.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school and NM license in good standing are required.
• Appointee will be admitted as a special master under NMRA Rule 10-163 and must have at least three years licensed practice in NM.
• Ability to establish effective working relationships with judges, legal community and staff.
• Excellent written and oral communication of complex rules; tact and courtesy in all interactions.
• Extensive knowledge of NM and federal case law, constitution, statutes, court rules and procedures.
• Must pass a background check and maintain confidentiality.
