Job summary

OpenAI’s Child Safety Enforcement Specialist role is based in San Francisco within the Intelligence & Investigations team. You independently lead defined investigations from triage to documented outcomes, applying policy and investigative judgment to surface trends and enforce actions.

You will review sensitive content, escalate complex legal questions, and collaborate with Legal, Policy, Product, Engineering, and operations to implement mitigations and clearly communicate findings.

Qualifications

• Experience investigating child safety abuse with sound judgment.
• Ability to own defined investigative projects and deliver outcomes.
• Knowledge of NCMEC CyberTip reporting workflows.
• Identify patterns in case data and suggest practical mitigations.
• Comfort using investigative tools and data with cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Independently review and investigate child safety content and behavior, documenting evidence and rationale.
• Lead high-risk escalations end to end; communicate progress and enforce decisions within policy.
• Identify mandatory-reporting cases and prepare accurate CyberTip reports.
• Analyze case data to find trends, gaps, and improvements in workflows.
• Collaborate with Legal, Policy, Product, Engineering, and operations to implement mitigations.
