Job summary

Arizona Department of Child Safety is hiring Case Manager/Child Safety Specialist to protect and support Arizona’s vulnerable children and families. The role involves on-site work across Avondale, Glendale, Peoria, and Phoenix, with 40 hours per week and potential overtime.

Training precedes progression with pay steps. Responsibilities include interviewing, safety assessments, coordinating services, and attending court hearings to prepare professional reports.

Qualifications

• Must have a degree or equivalent experience as noted, or 4 years as a DCS Case Aide.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Ability to obtain DPS Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card.
• Complete 22 weeks of training with in-person components.

Responsibilities

• Respond to allegations of child abuse or neglect.
• Conduct interviews and assess child safety.
• Work with families in their homes and community.
• Coordinate services and develop case plans.
• Attend court hearings and prepare reports.
• Transport children and support placement needs.
• Manage cases across a region.
• Collaborate with courts, providers, and partner agencies.
• Maintain accuracy in a high-volume environment.
