Job summary

The role requires a BSW, SACSSP registration, and at least 3 years of direct child protection experience. You will work under pressure, advocate for children's rights, and participate in ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Social Work (BSW) and SACSSP registration.
• Minimum of 3 years of direct child protection experience.
• In-depth knowledge of child development, family systems, and trauma-informed care.
• Strong understanding of the Children's Act and related SA legislation.
• Excellent assessment, crisis intervention, and case management skills.
• Proficiency in report writing and presentation.
• Strong advocacy and negotiation abilities.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough assessments of children and families referred for child protection concerns.
• Develop and implement comprehensive service plans to address identified needs and risks.
• Provide direct social work services, including counseling and support, to children and their families.
• Investigate allegations of child abuse and neglect, ensuring timely interventions.
• Collaborate with law enforcement, schools, healthcare providers, and other agencies.
• Prepare detailed case notes, reports, and court documents as required.
• Represent the organization in court proceedings and child protection meetings.
