Job summary

The attorney will serve as onsite legal counsel, handle litigation in NH courts and administrative hearings, and advise DCYF staff on applicable laws and procedures.

Requirements include a JD from an accredited law school, NH Bar in good standing, and four years of active legal practice.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
• Four years’ active practice of law required.
• Bar admission in good standing in New Hampshire.

Responsibilities

• Litigates on behalf of DCYF in child abuse/neglect and related matters.
• Represents DCYF in court and in administrative hearings.
• Assists CPSWs in case preparation for litigation.
• Provides legal consultations to DCYF staff and management.
