The Illinois Department of Children and Family Services seeks a meticulous Child Protection Assistant to help conduct investigations of child abuse and neglect. You will accompany Child Protection Specialists to homes and communities, observe and report on children's wellbeing, and connect families with DCFS services.

The role emphasizes organization, effective communication, and the ability to travel as needed.

Qualificações

• Requires completion of four (4) years of high school or equivalent, or two (2) years of experience with culturally disadvantaged in a public/private social welfare program.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills are required for this role.
• Ability to travel as needed and work in a team to assist investigations.

Responsabilidades

• As Child Protection Assistant, support Child Protection Specialist staff during investigations.
• Observe children and report any unusual behavior related to health and development.
• Explain services available through DCFS to clients and connect with private agencies.
• Organize and maintain automotive records, mileage, maintenance and expenses.
• Perform other duties as required within the scope of the role.
