Job summary

MSAD 11 seeks a dependable Child Nutrition Worker to join our School Nutrition Program. This is a 4-hour per day, school year position that serves as a floating role, providing support across food service operations within the district.

Responsibilities include assisting with food preparation, serving meals to students, maintaining clean kitchens and serving areas, operating the POS system, dishwashing, and supporting staff during meal service.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent and CHRC authorization.
• Ability to lift 25–50 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks.
• Prior food service or kitchen experience preferred but not required.
• Must obtain state or district food safety training if required.

• Assist with food preparation and serving meals to students.
• Maintain a clean and organized kitchen and serving areas.
• Operate the point-of-sale system.

Prior food service or kitchen experience preferred but not required. This position requires prolonged periods of standing and repeated motion; Requires stooping, bending, reaching, squatting, carrying, pushing, climbing, and kneeling; and the ability to lift 25-50 lbs.

This position may work in different school kitchens or assist with varying duties depending on daily needs. The ideal candidate is reliable, flexible, and enjoys working in a fast-paced school environment while helping provide nutritious meals for students.

Compensation and Benefits:

Hourly wage based on district support staff contract and experience ($18.67 – $21.95 per hour). Paid sick and personal leave in accordance with district policy.
