Job summary

MSAD #31 School Nutrition is seeking a Food Service Worker for the 2026-2027 school year. This is a full-time, 10-month position (175 days) with hours 6:00 AM to 1:30 PM, five days a week.

Special event and summer hour options may apply. Responsibilities include planning, preparing, and serving meals per federal guidelines, assisting in line setup, maintaining cleanliness, and following allergy restrictions.

Qualifications

  • Plans, prepares and serves food in portions that meet current federal guidelines per menu, as directed by the Nutrition Director.
  • Assists in serving line setup and in the sale of menu components in an atmosphere of efficiency, cleanliness, and friendliness.
  • Familiar with computer software programs.
  • Follows Allergy restrictions of Students.
  • Assists in the cleaning and sanitation of kitchen facilities and kitchen equipment in accordance to Maine Food Code and established Standard Operating Procedures
  • Maintains good personal hygiene of self.
  • Performs additional duties and reporting as required and directed by the Nutrition Director.
  • Requirements: MDOE Criminal Records History Check. Current Serve Safe Certification within 3 months.
  • Experience in institutional food preparation, proper equipment use, maintaining sanitary conditions, computer software programs and food preparation. Willing to train suitable candidates.
  • Exhibit good communication skills with co-workers and customers and have a desire to learn the Child Nutrition Program.

MSAD# 31 School Nutrition is seeking a Food Service Worker for School year 2026-2027. This position is 5 days per week, 7 hours per day. Hours 6-1:30pm. This is a school year position with special event and summer hour options.

Pay Scale: $18.25 - $20.50/hr
