Job summary

Yuma Elementary School District ONE is seeking a Technician for the Child Nutrition department. Responsibilities include maintaining records, budgets, and compliance with state and federal laws.

Preferred candidates have a high school diploma, some college, and experience with spreadsheets/databases. Strong confidentiality and communication skills are required, with the ability to work independently.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; AA in business or related field or 3 years related work experience preferred.
• Must be computer literate, including spreadsheets and databases.
• Ability to work well with the public and District One staff.
• Ability to speak, read and write English proficiently.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise independent judgment.

Responsibilities

• Record details of financial transactions in journals and ledgers.
• Maintain complete and systematic records of all financial transactions.
• Track and record purchases monthly and at year end for inventory/audit.
• Keep updated on procurement procedures by attending workshops and classes.
• Implement state and federal laws and regulations pertaining to Child Nutrition Programs.
• Obtain and organize pertinent data and prepare reports as directed.
• Maintain files and records for all programs under the Child Nutrition Department.
• Maintain accurate accounting practices, record income/expenditures, and budget control.
• Knowledge of Child Nutrition Programs and USDA Free/Reduced Program.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
