Job summary

Ysleta Independent School District is seeking a staff member to distribute information and determine eligibility for the free and reduced meal program, working under the Child Nutrition Manager. The role requires maintaining records and meal accounts, processing deposits, and preparing daily sales and participation reports while ensuring compliance with USDA and district policies.

You will assist with meal preparation, communicate with parents, and uphold safety standards in a fast-paced school

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and 2 years experience as helper or cashier; OR 5 years cashier/helper experience.
• Must handle money quickly and accurately; read/write in English; possess Food Handler's Card or obtain within 30 days.
• Driver's license or state ID; able to pass drug and alcohol screening per district policy.

Responsibilities

• Distribute information and applications for free and reduced meals.
• Explain eligibility criteria and procedures to parents and students.
• Process and maintain a permanent file of eligibility applications.
• Maintain meal participation dates and prepare daily sales reports.
• Deposit all monies following district procedures; ensure money security.
• Assist with preparation of meals and read/write directions as required.
