SUPERVISES: N/A

JOB GOAL: To serve the students attractive and nutritious meals in an atmosphere of efficiency, cleanliness, and friendliness.

QUALIFICATIONS:

REPORTS TO: Child Nutrition Program Manager

SALARY: To be determined commensurate with local salary matrix, credentials, and experience.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Assists, as directed, in the preparation of food portions according to planned menu and tested recipe, and prepares the cafeteria serving lines accordingly.
2. Replenishes food service lines regularly during each serving period.
3. Maintains the highest standards of safety and cleanliness in the cafeteria and kitchen.
4. Maintains the trash and garbage collection area in a neat and sanitary fashion.
5. Removes used dishes and assists in the clearing of counters, tables, and furnishings in the cafeteria and kitchen.
6. Performs related duties as required including duties at special functions.
7. Performs such other tasks and assumes such other responsibilities as may be assigned from time to time.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

1. Ability to work in a friendly manner with coworkers and students.
2. General knowledge of the best methods of preparing and cooking foods in large quantities; ability to adjust recipes to the quantity required.
3. Ability to perform job and communicate in a noisy environment.
4. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff and community.
5. Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and Board of Education policies.
