Job summary

Education Service Center, Region 2 is seeking an assistant manager to support the cafeteria operations on campus. You will help supervise the food service team, train staff, and assist in managing daily duties to ensure meals are prepared and served on time.

Responsibilities include meeting school menu requirements, maintaining health code compliance, and ensuring accurate cashiering and computer system operations as part of daily duties.

Meet time constraints set by the school menu requirements established by the Child Nutrition Office, which are required by TDA Regulations; and must meet health codes promulgated by city and state agencies.

Qualifications

Education/ Certification:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Food Handlers Certification
• Complete the ServSafe Manager Certification or Texas Food Safety Manager Certification during the first year as an assistant manager.

Special Knowledge/Skills

• Knowledge of methods, materials, equipment, and appliances used in food preparation.
• Ability to manage personnel and organize personnel schedule.
• Must have effective planning and organizational skills.
• Ability to follow directions well.

Experience

Must have at least three years' experience in institutional food service operations. Must be able to operate a computer and have knowledge of cashiering.
