Job summary

St. Louis Children's Hospital is seeking a Child Life Assistant to join our team on a PRN basis.

The role supports playrooms, teen lounge, and events, ensuring a safe, welcoming environment for children and families. Schedule requires at least 14 shifts per quarter with days between 8:30 am and 7:30 pm; you will supervise volunteers, coordinate activities, and help maintain cleanliness and safety across CL areas.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Experience supervising volunteers is not required.

Responsibilities

• Carries out the playroom and teen area activity programs as assigned, including plans and implements group activities that are developmentally appropriate, and assists in the coordination of special events.
• Responsible for the daily safety and security of all patients and visitors and during special events by assuring that safety/security policies and practices are consistently followed.
• Oversees the daily roles and responsibilities of volunteers in the CL areas and during special events by directing them to priority patients and guiding their work.
• Maintains an orderly and safe environment for all patients and families by overseeing and participating in the daily cleaning and maintenance of CL areas.
