Job summary

Butterfly Effects is seeking a dedicated Behavior Technician in the San Fernando Valley, CA to support children with autism through ABA-based plans. This part-time role offers 12-20 hours per week and opportunities to grow toward RBT and BCBA tracks.

You will implement plans under BCBA supervision, record progress, and collaborate with families and a care team. A high school diploma, RBT certification if obtained, and a valid driver's license with a personal vehicle are required, along with

Responsibilities

  • Implements individualized treatment plans under BCBA supervision.
  • Observes, records, and reports client progress daily.
  • Manages challenging behaviors.
  • Apply behavioral principles consistently in all interactions with clients.
  • Assists clients to acquire academic and/or life skills.
  • Communicates professionally with parents and team members.
  • Completes daily paperwork and data entry in our online system.
  • Participates in ongoing training programs.
  • Maintains confidentiality and follows BE policies.

Behavior Technician

What Do You Bring to the Role?

What Will You Be Doing
  • Implements individualized treatment plans under the direction of a Board-Certified Behavioral Analyst (BCBA).
  • Observes, records, and reports on client's progress, as well as the condition and behavior of the client daily.
  • Manages challenging behaviors.
  • Apply behavioral principles consistently in all interactions with clients.
  • Assists clients, as needed, to acquire academic and/or appropriate life skills.
  • Communicates in a professional and respectful manner with parents, behavior analysts/consultants, trainers, and clients.
  • Functions as an active member of the treatment team.
  • Completes daily paperwork and data collection notes in a detailed, accurate, consistent, and timely manner through our online database.
  • Actively participates in continuous training programs designed to increase overall skills.
  • Maintains confidentiality of client information.
  • Follows BE policies and procedures.

Physical Requirements

This role involves working in natural environments, occasionally requiring lifting or moving up to 50 lbs. and maintaining various postures for extended periods.
