Job summary

Butterfly Effects seeks dedicated Child Interventionists/Behavior Technicians to directly assist children with autism in developing communication, social, and self-care skills under BCBA guidance.

We offer part-time roles (9-15 hours/week) with after-school hours (3pm-7pm, 3–5 days). Opportunities for RBT certification and BCBA pathway, plus training support and growth within a supportive, family-centered ABA team in San Jose, CA.

Qualifications

  • Candidate loves working with children and families.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; RBT is a plus.
  • Ability to implement ABA-based plans under supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Implements individualized treatment plans under the direction of a BCBA.
  • Observes, records, and reports progress daily.
  • Manages challenging behaviors.
  • Applies behavioral principles consistently in interactions.
  • Assists clients to acquire life skills.
  • Communicates professionally with parents and team.
  • Completes daily paperwork and data entries.

We are seeking dedicated Child Interventionists/Behavior Technicians/Registered Behavior Technicians, entry level and experienced, to directly assist children with autism in honing vital skills like communication, social interaction, and self-care. What Would You Be Doing?
  • Implements individualized treatment plans under the direction of a Board-Certified Behavioral Analyst (BCBA).
  • Observes, records, and reports on client's progress, as well as the condition and behavior of the client daily.
  • Manages challenging behaviors.
  • Applies behavioral principles consistently in all interactions with clients.
  • Assists clients, as needed, to acquire academic and/or appropriate life skills.
  • Communicates in a professional and respectful manner with parents, behavior analysts/consultants, trainers, and clients.
  • Functions as an active member of the treatment team.
  • Completes daily paperwork and data collection notes in a detailed, accurate, consistent, and timely manner through our online database.
  • Actively participates in continuous training programs designed to increase overall skills.
  • Maintains confidentiality of client information.
  • Follows BE policies and procedures.

What Do You Bring to the Role?
  • Certification: Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification is a plus.
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Passion for Children: A genuine love for working with children.
  • Positive Attitude: Strong interpersonal skills for working with children and families.
  • Experience: Prior experience with children is advantageous.
  • Continuous Learning: Interest in ongoing development.
  • Transportation: Must have reliable transportation.
  • Background: Must be able to satisfactorily pass a company background check.
Physical Requirements

This role involves working in natural environments, occasionally requiring lifting or moving up to 50 lbs. and maintaining various postures for extended periods.
