Job summary

Butterfly Effects in Holyoke, MA, is seeking a Child Interventionist/Behavior Technician or Registered Behavior Technician for field-based, part-time hours 3:00pm-7:00pm.

You will implement ABA-based plans with children, observe progress, and collaborate with BCBA and families to foster communication, social skills and independence.

Entry-level and experienced candidates are welcome; training and financial support to pursue certification are provided.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
• Certification: Registered Behavior Technician Certification if already obtained.
• Passion for working with children and a positive attitude.
• Experience with children is advantageous.
• Must have transportation and a tablet or laptop for sessions.
• Willingness to learn and grow in ABA practices.

Responsibilities

• Implements individualized treatment plans under BCBA direction.
• Observes and reports on client progress daily.
• Manages challenging behaviors using ABA principles.
• Applies behavioral principles consistently with clients.
• Assists clients to acquire academic and life skills.
• Communicates professionally with families and analysts.
• Works as an active member of the treatment team.
• Completes daily paperwork and data entry in our system.
• Participates in ongoing training to enhance skills.
• Maintains confidentiality and follows BE policies.

What Would You Be Doing?

• Implements individualized treatment plans under the direction of a Board-Certified Behavioral Analyst (BCBA).
• Observes, records, and reports on client's progress, as well as the condition and behavior of the client daily.
• Manages challenging behaviors.
• Apply behavioral principles consistently in all interactions with clients.
• Assists clients, as needed, to acquire academic and/or appropriate life skills.
• Communicates in a professional and respectful manner with parents, behavior analysts/consultants, trainers, and clients.
• Functions as an active member of the treatment team.
• Completes daily paperwork and data collection notes in a detailed, accurate, consistent, and timely manner through our online database.
• Actively participates in continuous training programs designed to increase overall skills.
• Maintains confidentiality of client information.
• Follows BE policies and procedures.

Physical Requirements

This role involves working in natural environments, occasionally requiring lifting or moving up to 50 lbs. and maintaining various postures for extended periods.
