Job summary

Compass Health Center in Northbrook, IL is seeking a Group Therapist to lead evidence-based groups (CBT, DBT) for youth and support families through coaching and follow-up. Qualifications

• Master’s in Social Work/Clinical Counseling or other relevant Master’s/Doctoral programs.
• Hold or be eligible for one of the listed licensures.
• 1+ year of post-Master’s clinical experience, or a relevant master’s level internship.
• Core skill set of CBT and DBT.
• Experience with patients in crisis, in high acuity environments.

Responsibilities

• Develop DBT/CBT skill groups for ages 8-14.
• Provide crisis intervention and staff support as needed.
• Develop and document treatment plans and weekly updates.
• Co-facilitate creative expression and experiential groups.
• Support families via phone coaching and follow-up calls.
• Check in with treatment team about changes and progress for individual patients.
• Provide clinical observations during interdisciplinary meetings.
• Provide individual support to patients as needed.
• Support other team members in treatment groups.
• Guide milieu staff during skills and executive functioning activities.

Weekly outpatient therapy isn't always enough, and a trip to the ER isn't the only answer. Patients and their families rely on CompassHealth Center whenincrisis - every day, wehelp people overcome depression, anxiety, suicidality, obsessions/compulsions, trauma, chronic pain, and other obstacles in order for our patients to live freely.

About This Role

As a group therapist, you will spend the majority of your time with our patients facilitating evidenced based groups using modalities like CBT, DBT, and ACT. We are seeking new and experienced clinicians with a passion for delivering dynamic and informative groups for our patients. Our location in Northbrook is our first and largest facility, and consists not only of our widest variety of programs, but also serves as a pilot site for many of our new treatment offerings.

What You’ll Do:

• Developing and implementing DBT/CBT skill groups, working with ages 8-14 years old
• Providing crisis intervention and staff support, as needed
• Developing and documenting treatment plans and weekly update
• Co-facilitating creative expression and other experiential therapeutic groups
• Assisting program director in supporting families through phone coaching and follow-up calls
• Checking in with treatment team about changes and progress for individual patients
• Providing clinical observations and insights during interdisciplinary meetings
• Providing individual support to patients, as needed
• Providing support to other team members in various treatment groups
• Providing guidance and support for milieu staff during skills and executive functioning therapy activities/instruction
• Other duties, as assigned

Who You Are:

• Master’s in Social Work/Clinical Counseling or other relevant Master’s/Doctoral programs
• Hold or be eligible for one of the following licensures: LSW, LPC, LCSW, LCPC, MSW, AMFT, LMFT, PsyD, or PhD (preferred)
• 1 + year of post-Master’s clinical experience, or a relevant master’s level internship
• Possess a core skill set of Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)
• Experience with patients in crisis, and a strong passion for working within high acuity environments

This range includes multiple career path levels across the organization; where you fall in the range is dependent upon a number of factors including, but not limited to, your years of experience, type of experience, location, and education/certifications. Compass reserves the right to update these ranges.

Compensation: $47,000 USD - $65,000 USD
