Job summary

Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services seeks a Child and Family Services Internship (Summer 2027) across multiple Nebraska locations. Interns will shadow CFSS staff to gain hands-on experience, support families, and assist with case management and reporting to legal entities and the court system.

The internship is open to students currently enrolled in accredited programs; academic coursework in related fields is preferred.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program at an accredited college or university (two-to-four-year institution).
• Recently graduated (within one year) from an undergraduate or graduate degree program at an accredited college or university (two-to-four-year institution).

Responsibilities

• Shadow CFSS to gain hands-on experience.
• Support case management with families and documentation.
• Participate in Structured Decision Making and referrals.
• Assist with reports to legal entities and the court system.
