Job summary

Elwyn in Philadelphia is seeking a Child Education Coordinator II to engage families, ECE directors and teachers and implement preschool early intervention in line with PA Chapter 14 and IDEA. You will collaborate with LEA representatives to ensure FAPE and LRE for all children.

The role involves coordinating IEPs, ensuring regulatory compliance, coaching staff, conducting site visits, maintaining data systems, and promoting family engagement.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Early Education, Elementary Education, Special Education, or related service certification.
  • Current Pennsylvania Teaching Certificate in Elementary Education, Special Education, or Early Childhood Education preferred.
  • At least 2 years of case management or early childhood education experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of federal and state Special Education regulations including PA Chapter 14, Act 212 and IDEA 2014.
  • Knowledge of early childhood education issues and best practices in Early Intervention.
  • Understanding of early childhood development principles and practices.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to work well in a team and manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Excellent judgment and problem-solving with minimal supervision.
  • Dual language proficiency preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and provide hands-on support to staff and participate in IEPs.
  • Review and revise educational plans per regulations; ensure compliance and quality service delivery.
  • Coach and support community-based staff and service providers.
  • Perform frequent site visits to early childhood settings to ensure quality service delivery.
  • Monitor adherence to PA state and federal EI laws; ensure FAPE and LRE.
  • Facilitate smooth transitions for families between programs.
  • Initiate referrals for IEP team when needed to support progress.
  • Interpret and implement evaluation tools and assessments for preschool EI.
  • Explain parents' rights and PDE safeguards to families.
  • Maintain education records and data entry accurately and timely.
