Job summary

Abundant Life Family Services (ALFS) invites applications for an Early Intervention Special Instructor. The role focuses on providing services to preschool children aged 3-5 in school-based and community settings in Philadelphia and surrounding counties.

The candidate will work with families, design learning activities, and participate in IEP meetings, ensuring services align with professional standards and county guidelines.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in a related field and certification requirements.
• PA teaching certificate or eligible PA certification.
• Certification as SI (Special Instructor) is required.
• One year experience with preschool children aged 3-5 or with disabilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide early intervention services aligned with professional standards.
• Design learning environments and activities to develop developmental and social skills.
• Collaborate with families to establish daily routines and learning at home.
• Provide families with information and resources tailored to a disabled child.
• Adhere to federal, state and county guidelines for early intervention.
• Participate in IEP meetings as needed to support children's goals.
• Ensure students receive services in the least restrictive environment.
• Plan and organize instruction to maximize learning outcomes.
• Implement curriculum aligned with IEP goals and child needs.
• Understand and advocate for the child with others.
• Attend and contribute to meetings as required.
• Maintain documents per county policy and timely reporting.
