Requires a Master’s Degree in Social Work or a related field, with relevant clinical experience with children. A Bachelor’s degree with related coursework and four years of experience also qualifies, or an equivalent combination of training and education.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Social Work from an accredited college or university; two years of full-time relevant experience with children in educational, hospital or mental health settings.
• Bachelor's Degree with at least 12 semester hours in Child Psychology, Early Childhood Education, Social Group Work or related coursework, and four years of full-time related experience.
• Satisfactory equivalent combination of training, education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex child development practice activities and supervise a child care program as assigned.
• Assist in planning, organizing and administration of child development or child care programs.
• Select, train and supervise counseling staff engaged in care of preschool and school-age children.
• Develop training curricula and conduct in-service training for staff in clinical child development techniques.
• Develop staff skills in observation and recording of behavior.
• Coordinate medical, psychiatric, recreation and social services aspects of the program.
• Administer developmental assessments, conduct evaluative studies and prepare progress reports.
• Review and prepare reports for operation of preschool and school-age programs.

Education

Master's Degree in Social Work

Baccalaureate Degree with related coursework (12 semester hours)
