Job summary

Linn County in Iowa seeks a Center Supervisor to assure the daily operation of the Linn County Child Development Center, supervise staff, and ensure adequate daily coverage while promoting a team approach and compliance with state licensing requirements, national accreditation standards, federal Head Start Performance Standards, and IQ4K standards.

You will establish and maintain staff schedules, arrange back-up coverage, participate in key personnel decisions, and coordinate annual evaluations

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education, child development or related field.
• A minimum of three (3) years of experience in a licensed or accredited early childhood program within past five years.
• Mandatory Training for Identifying and Reporting Child Abuse.
• First Aid and CPR Certification.
• Fulfill DHS licensing requirement for updated health exam every three years.

Responsibilities

• Establishes and maintains daily staff schedule to provide adequate classroom coverage.
• Coordinates back-up coverage for absent staff with Teacher-Team Leader coordination.
• Provides supervision to Center staff with involvement of Child & Youth Development Director on personnel decisions.
• Facilitates annual staff evaluations with input from Teacher-Team Leader.
• Maintains records needed for annual DHS Licensing visit.
• Coordinates Center staff, parents and board in NAEYC Reaccreditation timelines.
• Develops an annual Center calendar with trainings, home visits and conferences.
• Schedules required child screenings and monthly PALS meetings.
• Works with HACAP Family Support Worker for parent meetings and monthly newsletter.
