Job summary

Northeast Iowa Community College seeks an Assistant to support the Co-Director and Lead Teacher in the Child Development Center. You will help plan daily activities, prepare learning environments, and promote healthy development while ensuring safety and nutrition practices.

Ideal candidates have a background in Early Childhood, a warm, nurturing demeanor, and strong teamwork. Open until filled; monthly meetings and DHS requirements apply.

Qualifications

• Educational background in Early Childhood preferred (meets DHS licensing).
• Experience in Early Childhood program preferred.
• Warm, nurturing personality with positive approach to children.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Completion of mandatory reporting training and CPR/First Aid.
• Current physical exam and health requirements as defined.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning and implementing the daily program under the Lead Teacher.
• Assist in preparing the learning environment, centers, and materials.
• Assist in promoting healthy physical, cognitive, emotional and social development.
• Assist in teaching activities, ensure safety and proper hygiene.
• Assist in daily maintenance and record keeping for infants/preschool.
• Maintain confidentiality and coordinate equipment with Lead Teacher.
• Attend staff meetings and meet weekly with Lead Teacher.
