Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and be at least 21 years of age.
• Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in any field plus 12 hours of child dev. training
• Associate degree in Early Childhood Education
• Associate degree in any field plus 12 hours of child development training and 2 years of full-time paid experience working with children
• Directors Credential in Early Childhood Development and 1 year of full-time paid experience working with children
• Child development associate (CDA) plus 1 year of full-time paid experience working with children
• 3 years of paid full-time experience working directly with children in a Division of Childcare-approved program
• Willing to get First Aid certified, CPR certified, and complete six hours of state-approved childcare administration training annually

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement and administer a Child Development Center operations to meet licensure requirements.
• Ambassador for Spencer County Public Schools, offering excellent customer service to students, parents, and staff.
• Supervise the total operations and maintenance of a Child Development Center.
• Plan, organize and establish the type of physical facility necessary to meet licensure requirements.
• Implement Center programs and assist in curriculum development.
• Supervise, monitor and evaluate performance of center staff.
• Develop and implement procedures for recording progress of infants and reporting progress to parents.
• Prepare regular reports of center activities, events and progress toward goals.
• Prepare, submit and maintain Center budgets.
• Oversee the Center's special programs such as a food program.
