Job summary

Union Hill School District's Bearcat Discovery Center/Bearcat Adventures program seeks a dedicated assistant to support instructors and care for children. You will help with safe play, behavior management, and preparation of teaching materials in a dynamic after-school setting.

The role requires pediatric CPR/First Aid certification, fingerprint clearance, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, with supervision as needed. Temporary, 237-day program during non-school days.

Qualifications

• California Child Development Assistant Permit required.
• Pediatric CPR and First Aid certification required.
• Fingerprint clearance by FBI and DOJ required.
• Lift 50 pounds and perform physical tasks.
• Operate with minimal direction and follow Bearcat policies.

Responsibilities

• Assist instructional personnel with directing students into safe learning and play activities.
• Assist in managing student behavior using positive reinforcement strategies.
• Prepare instructional materials and learning aids for individuals or small groups.
• Maintain records and confidential student information.
• Assist children with toileting and personal hygiene.
• May assist children with feeding.
• Maintain an orderly, attractive and positive learning environment.
• Participate in parent conferences as requested.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
