Job summary

Texas Southmost College is seeking a childcare assistant to support the child development specialist in planning, supervising and implementing the classroom program in compliance with state requirements, contract standards, and college policies.

You will help develop weekly lesson plans, assist with instruction, read stories, lead activities, supervise students, communicate with parents, attend meetings, and complete required trainings.

Responsibilities

• Assist the child development specialist in planning and implementing age-appropriate classroom activities.
• Develop weekly lesson plans and conduct instructional activities.
• Support classroom management and supervise students.
• Document attendance and training hours; prepare reports.
• Engage with parents about children's progress and behavior.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in the classroom.
• Attend staff meetings and complete required trainings.
