Job summary

Rite of Passage Team in Lignum, VA is hiring a Child Care Worker to provide safety and around-the-clock supervision at a residential treatment facility for at-risk youth. In this role you will address physical, personal and health needs, support educational and behavioral goals, and document youth progress while collaborating with a professional staff.

Starting pay is $19 to $23 per hour, with a $1,000 bonus after successful completion of essential skills training within 90 days.

Qualifications

• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent, Associates or Bachelor’s degree preferred ~ 6 months experience working with children preferred (paid or volunteer)
• Be able to pass a criminal background check, drug screen, physical, and TB test.

Responsibilities

• Child Care Workers provide safety and around-the-clock supervision of at-risk youth at a residential treatment facility.
• You will provide for the physical, personal and health needs of each youth through individual counseling and behavioral/social/physical and educational skill development.
• Collaborate with other professional staff to establish and meet the goals of each youth's treatment plan.

Childhelp is a psychiatric residential treatment facility that specializes in the treatment of children aged 5-14 with mild to severe trauma or neglect, psychiatric disorders, and neurodevelopmental disorders. What you will do: Child Care Workers provide safety and around-the-clock supervision of at-risk youth at a residential treatment facility. In this role, you will provide for the physical, personal and health needs of each youth through individual counseling and behavioral/social/physical and educational skill development. Child Care Workers provide an atmosphere that is supportive of the youth’s needs; monitor and document behaviors and activities; and participate and assist with educational, social athletic and recreational activities. Child Care Workers collaborate with other professional staff to establish and meet the goals of each youth's treatment plan.

To be considered you should: Possess a high school diploma or equivalent, Associates or Bachelor’s degree preferred ~ 6 months experience working with children preferred (paid or volunteer) ~ Be able to pass a criminal background check, drug screen, physical, and TB test.

Schedule: Work week will be 4 ten hour hours shifts with one weekend night required Overnight Shift: 10:00 PM to 8:00 AM.
