Job summary

Learning Years Day School is seeking an experienced Teacher to lead a class, assess students, and design instruction that meets both group and individual needs while fostering a safe, engaging learning environment for children to thrive.

You will collaborate with assistants and volunteers, employ diverse instructional methods, and maintain open communication with families and school staff to support student development.

Qualifications

• Must have love for children and a strong desire to teach and guide them
• Strong understanding of child development principles and best practices in education and classroom management
• Meet the experience and training qualifications required by DELC, for their assigned age group
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Knowledge of classroom health, safety, and sanitation guidelines and ability to closely adhere to the guidelines
• Strong creative and problem-solving skills

Responsibilities

• Use a curriculum that will enrich the students love of learning
• Supervise and create a Team Work environment with the assistants and volunteers within the program
• Assist children with developing social and emotional skills
• Use a range of instructional methods and learning techniques to meet individual needs
• Communicate with parents and other school personnel, providing that bridge between home and school.
• Assess student's skills and develop opportunities to assist students in meeting developmental milestones
