Job summary

Innovative Network of Knowledge in Jasper, Alabama seeks a dedicated staff member to support classroom activities and daily operations in our child-centered program.

You will follow Head Start guidelines, maintain safety, cleanliness, and nutrition standards, and collaborate with teachers to support children's development.

The role emphasizes health screenings, documentation, and respectful engagement with diverse families; some evenings and weekends may be required.

Qualifications

• Ability to respond sensitively to the population’s cultural and socioeconomic characteristics.
• Written and spoken English; Spanish preferred.
• Maintain professional composure and emotional control in stressful situations.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and be willing to travel up to 50% as needed.
• Complete health examination and pass background checks.

Responsibilities

• Protect the health and safety of children and supervise to prevent unsupervised moments.
• Implement nutrition services appropriate for all children, including special needs.
• Keep facilities clean and safe per policies and OSHA standards.
• Follow hygiene practices for toileting, handwashing, and safe food prep.
• Communicate with teachers about student behavior and progress.
• Assist with classroom setup, supervision, and activity setup.
• Lift up to 60 pounds and assist with moving furniture as needed.
• Report incidents within required timeframes.
