Kettle Moraine YMCA Inc in West Bend, Wisconsin is seeking a part-time Child Care Substitute Teacher to support teachers in daily activities of YMCA childcare programs.

Subbing hours are Monday through Friday with no weekends; wage ranges from $15 to $20 per hour. This position offers Free YMCA membership and program discounts for child care, school age care and day camp.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old unless approved course completed.
• CPR/AED certification (we can certify).
• DCF department approved course in Child Care field within 6 months.
• 10 hours DCF approved Infant/Toddler training within 6 months if applicable.
• Must pass Child Care Background Check before hire.
• Current CPR/AED certification preferred; required within 30 days of hire.

• Assists teachers in carrying out the daily curriculum.
• Maintains a safe, orderly environment and performs housekeeping duties.
• Interacts with children at their cognitive level and provides supervision.
• Assists in meal/snack preparation.

Child Care Substitute Teacher

Part Time West Bend, WI, US

Salary Range: $15.00 To $20.00 Hourly

Status: under 29 hours/week

Location: Early Learning Center (1111 West Washington St. West Bend WI 53095), Discovery Center (1113 West Washington St. West Bend WI 53095), Trinity Lutheran (140 N 7th Ave, West Bend WI 53095), Holy Trinity Newburg (309 Salisbury St, West Bend, WI 53090)

Wage:$15-20/hour

POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the direction of the Childcare Director, the Assistant Teacher is responsible for assisting the teacher in implementing the daily activities in the Child Care programs for the Kettle Moraine YMCA.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Follows the DCF Wisconsin Licensing Rules for Group Child Care Centers, the YMCA Child Care Policies and the Orientation packet.
• Assists teachers in carrying out the daily curriculum.
• Reports any concerns to the staff member in charge.
• Maintains a safe, orderly environment, which includes housekeeping duties.
• Assists in meal/snack preparation.
• Interacts with children at their cognitive level and provides supervision for a safe environment.
• Before talking to parents about any problems, consults with a staff person in charge for proper delivery to parents.
• Builds and maintains effective, positive relationships with the members, participants, volunteers, other staff, and the communities we serve.
• Acts as a positive role model using the YMCA’s core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility.
• Adhere to the Code of Conduct and policies within the Child Abuse Prevention handbook.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• The ability to lift 40 lbs.
