Job summary

Kettle Moraine YMCA in Port Washington, WI is seeking a part-time Child Care Coordinator to organize and implement high-quality YMCA childcare programs for school-aged children. This role supports before/after school care, day camps, and related activities at Dunwiddie Elementary School.

You will train staff, ensure licensing compliance, and build partnerships with schools and parents. The position requires 18+, 1–2 years’ childcare experience, and ability to obtain current CPR/First Aid within

Qualifications

  • Associates Degree preferred.
  • 1–2 years related experience in a childcare program.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Continuing Education as required by Wisconsin State Licensing Standards.
  • Current CPR/AED and First Aid certification preferred; required within 30 days of hire.
  • Ability to relate to diverse groups of people.
  • Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be Child Care Teacher qualified or have the ability to become Child Care Teacher qualified within 3 months of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate in program hours at an assigned site for school age care and directly in charge of or assists with an assigned camp location.
  • Train, develop, and direct personnel and volunteers as needed.
  • Ensure that YMCA program standards and Wisconsin State Licensing requirements are met, and safety procedures followed.
  • Provide for upkeep of assigned program facilities and equipment and ensure the physical environment supports healthy living.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with Wisconsin state childcare licensing, school administration, parent groups and other organizations and agencies related to assigned programs; respond to all inquiries and complaints in a timely manner.
  • Attend and assist staff meetings, training sessions and other required meetings.
  • Adhere to the Code of Conduct and policies within the Child Abuse Prevention handbook.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Part Time Port Washington, WI, US

Salary Range: $20.00 To $23.00 Hourly

Status: under 29 hours/week

Location: Dunwiddie Elementary School (1243 W Lincoln Ave, Port Washington, WI 53074)

Wage:$20-23/hour

Benefit Package Including : Free Y Membership; Program Discounts including Child Care, School Age Care, and Day Camp

Hours:Monday through Friday, before and after the school day. Must be available 6:00 - 8:45 a.m. AND 2:45 - 6:00 p.m.

POSITION SUMMARY:

This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. Develops, organizes and implements high quality YMCA child care program(s).

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Associates Degree preferred.
  • One to two years related experience preferred in a childcare program.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
