Job summary

Cottonwood Heights Parks and Recreation Service Area is seeking a Child Care Worker to provide a clean, safe nursery environment for infants and children. You will receive children, provide basic care, monitor feeding and nap times, and follow security procedures for check-in/check-out.

The role emphasizes strong public relations with parents and guardians and adherence to established policies. The position is non-seasonal and part-time with weekday and evening hours, including Saturdays, under

Qualifications

• CPR/First Aid Certification required.
• Criminal Background Investigation required upon hire date.
• Understanding of infant and child care and feeding.

Responsibilities

• Assume responsibility for effectively performing Child Care Worker responsibilities.
• Care for and entertain all children in the nursery, including reading, coloring, and play.
• Enforce all rules and regulations established by the Customer Service Manager.
• Keep the nursery clean, neat, safe, and comfortable; wash dishes, change linens, clean toys, vacuum floors.
• Assist parents in following security procedures for checking children in and out.
• Supervise activities and appropriately reinforce and discipline children as necessary.
• Establish and maintain positive relations with parents and children.
• Follow parents' feeding times, nap schedules, and special instructions.
• Inform parents of their child’s activities and behavior tactfully.
• Remain vigilant and respond promptly to questions and problems.
• Maintain positive rapport with parents, children, and the Customer Service Manager.
• Stay current in CPR, First Aid, and Criminal Background Check.
