Job summary

BrightPath Kids in Mansfield, CT is hiring a Lead Teacher to work closely with teachers and families to provide a nurturing, home-like environment for children. The role follows NAEYC guidelines, creating engaging, developmentally appropriate activities and ensuring safety in a dynamic classroom.

You will partner with families to plan individualized care and education, communicate progress, and support children’s growth in a diverse, child-centered program.

Qualifications

• As per requirements, candidates should hold an Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education or a CDA credential or Head Teacher certification or have 12 ECE credits or a Bachelor's degree.
• 2+ years of experience in a licensed child care setting is preferred.
• Strong customer service and multitasking skills, with ability to work within normal operating hours.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety and supervision of children aged 6 weeks to 12 years in the classroom.
• Create developmentally appropriate curriculum aligned with NAEYC standards.
• Design programs and activities based on children's interests and learning styles.
• Maintain a warm, clean, and safe environment for exploration and growth.
• Communicate effectively with families to support children’s care and education.
• Collaborate with families to develop plans for best outcomes for children.

What will you be doing?

As a Lead Teacher, you will work side-by-side with teachers and families to provide a home away from home for children in our care, according to NAEYC guidelines. Responsibilities include:

• Ensuring the safety and supervision of children ages 6 weeks - 12 years in one assigned classroom.
• Creating developmentally appropriate curriculum according to NAEYC standards.
• Curating programs and activities based on children's interests and learning styles.
• Maintaining a warm and safe environment that is clean and permits children to grow and explore.
• Partnering with families to create plans to provide the best care and education for their children.
• Providing effective communication with parents/guardians about their child.

Requirements:

• Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education/related field OR Child Development Associate (CDA) credential OR Head Teacher certification OR 12 credits in Early Childhood Education courses OR Bachelor's Degree required
• 2+ years of experience in a licensed child care facility preferred
• Strong customer service skills
• Ability to multitask and remain organized
• Ability to work within regular operating hours
• Must meet state criteria for child care employment
