Job summary

Learning Care Group is hiring a Food Specialist (Cook) to prepare meals for enrolled children in a caring, compliant, and budget-conscious environment. You will develop home-style, nutritious meals that meet state and federal requirements and follow the Director’s daily menu with USDA and health standards in mind.

Qualifications

• Work experience in cooking and/or food preparation for multiple individuals in a childcare facility.
• Willingness to learn and adhere to all current state and local regulations.
• Flexibility as to the hours and schedule of work.

Responsibilities

• The Child Care Cook, Food Specialist, is responsible for overall food preparation for the school’s enrolled children and for adapting to menu changes and meal/snack schedules.
• Create home-style, nutritional meal plans within the school’s menu and budget, while meeting state and federal requirements.
• Follow the daily menu provided by the Director, incorporating USDA/licensing/health department regulations.
• Maintain inventory of food and supplies and order more when needed.
• Assist in classrooms as needed as an Assistant Teacher/Floater.
