Job summary

Boys & Girls Clubs of Larimer County in Estes Park, Colorado, seeks a Child Care Group Leader to provide a fun, safe, and positive before-and-after school experience for youth. The role focuses on leading programs that promote academic enrichment, character, and healthy lifestyles in a supportive environment.

You will mentor students, supervise activities, and adapt to a dynamic after-school setting. This is a part-time, non-exempt position with shifts before and after school, offering a $19.00

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• At least three months (455 hours) of verified care experience with four or more children ages four and older.
• Prior after-school experience preferred.
• Bilingual Spanish preferred; CPR certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in implementing and leading after-school programs (academic enrichment, character & citizenship, healthy lifestyles).

About this position

Boys & Girls Clubs of Larimer County (BGCLC) is a place for kids to laugh, a place to learn, a place to grow and a place to belong. BGCLC is looking for energetic, fun-loving, adaptable, youth-focused individuals to help foster a fun, safe, and positive before and after school experience.

As a Child Care Group Leader, you will:

• Assist in implementing and leading a variety of fun and memorable after school programs in areas such as academic enrichment, good character & citizenship, and healthy lifestyles


• Help ensure safety of our Club members.


• Act as a mentor/role model for school aged youth.

You’ll succeed in this role if you are someone who:

The pay rate for this variable hour, part time, non-exempt position is $19.00/hour.

Before School Hours: Wednesday 7:00 am - 9:00am

After School Hours: Monday - Friday 2:30 pm - 6:00 pm

Education

• High School Diploma or equivalent.

Experience

• Must have at least three 3 months (455 hours) of verified experience in the care and supervision of four 4 or more children over the ages of four 4 (not related to the individual) or a current early childhood professional credential level I one (1) or higher.


• Prior experience working in an after-school setting is highly preferred.

Other Requirements

• Bilingual Spanish speaking is highly preferred.


• CPR certification highly preferred.


• Ability to motivate youth and manage behaviors.


• Candidates must be able to pass a criminal/driving records investigation and reference checks.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

• The work environment is the typical youth mentorship or after school environment and/ or office environment. The environment can be loud, stressful, complicated, and constant interruptions throughout the workday/shift. The employee must be comfortable performing multi-faceted projects, demonstrate superior interpersonal abilities-able to interact effectively with children and co-workers of all levels as well as with representatives of other organizations and institutions—ability to get along with diverse personalities: tact, maturity, and flexibility.
