Job summary

PATCH in Hawaii is seeking a program administrator responsible for all state-wide Child Care Food Program services. The role requires residing in Hawaii and coordinating with the Office of Hawaii Children Nutrition Programs (OHCNP) and partner centers.

You will supervise staff, monitor budgets, ensure contractual compliance, and submit required reports while supporting program participants and maintaining effective communications with stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of nutrition is required.
  • High School diploma or GED; Associates Degree preferred.
  • Two years of supervisory experience.
  • One year of experience in the early childhood education field or related is preferred.

About This Role

PATCH is seeking an individual to be responsible for all Child Care Food Program services state-wide.

  • Must reside in Hawaii
What You'll Do
Essential Duties
  • Oversees program operations, procedural changes and administration of the program. Includes monitoring the budget and ensures compliance to all contractual commitment of the program.
  • Recruits, trains and supervises employees reporting to him or her.
  • Reads and audits participant menus for accuracy and completeness.
  • Creates and submits all required reports to the Office of Hawaii Children Nutrition Programs (OHCNP) of the State Department of Education.
  • Responsible for all communications between PATCH, OHCNP, Child Development Center (Navy) and the Family Child Care Center (Marine).
Other Duties
  • Monitors and supports employees regarding their home visits and reviews.
  • Oversees scanning and evaluating participant menus.
  • Coordinates and conducts technical assistance classes for Food Program participants. Includes creating and/or gathering information and materials for the class.
  • Develops and implements plans to recruit new participants onto the program.
  • Assist other PATCH programs as needed
  • Duties as assigned
Working Conditions

Usually indoors in an office setting.

Work Hours

8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; Monday- Friday; duties will require overtime and weekend hours.

Equipment Use

Computer and standard office equipment. May occasionally use flip charts, overhead projector, television, VCR/DVD player while training.

Mental, Physical and Communication Demands

Requires relating to people in a friendly and professional manner with excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Must be organized and be able to pay close attention to detail. Requires working under minimal supervision. Must also be able to supervise and support employees.

During training, the employee will be required to stand and must occasionally life and/or move more than 50 pounds.

Requirements
  • Must possess a valid Hawaii driver’s license with access to an insured vehicle. The employee is required to use their personal vehicle and must be willing to travel to various locations for meetings, trainings and home visits.
  • Required to travel to the neighbor islands. May be required to travel to the mainland as deemed necessary.

  • Knowledge of nutrition
  • Education/Experience:
  • High School diploma or GED; Associates Degree .
  • Previous experience with the USDA Child and Adult Care Food Program is desired.
  • Two year of supervisory experience.
  • One year of experience in the early childhood education field or related ispreferred.
