Job summary

Learning Care Group in Houston is seeking a Food Specialist to manage overall food preparation for the school’s enrolled children. This role adapts to menu changes and meets meal and snack schedules.

As a Food Specialist you will prepare home-style, nutritious meals within the school menu and budget, follow USDA and health regulations, maintain inventory, and support teachers as needed. The position emphasizes teamwork, safety, and flexibility in hours, with opportunities for training and growth

Qualifications

• Experience cooking/food preparation for multiple individuals in a childcare facility.
• Willingness to learn and adhere to state/local regulations.
• Flexibility in hours and schedule.

Responsibilities

• Prepare meals and snacks for children and staff within the school menu and budget.
• Follow the daily menu and applicable USDA/licensing/health department regulations.
• Maintain inventory of food and supplies and reorder as needed.
• Assist in classrooms as needed as an Assistant Teacher/Floater.
