Job summary

Greater Philadelphia YMCA seeks a passionate education professional for the 2026-2027 school year. This full‑time, hourly role offers the chance to nurture children’s development within a caring community and a collaborative team.

You will plan curriculum, observe and document progress, maintain records, communicate with parents, and support safe, engaging learning environments. You’ll also participate in team planning and donor campaigns to strengthen our programs.

Qualifications

• Degree in education or human services from an accredited college or university.
• 2+ years verified child care experience (2500 hours).
• Passionate about working with children in a fun, diverse environment.
• Ability to pass all relevant clearances and trainings.

Responsibilities

• Find new and engaging ways to help kids learn, while maintaining safe, supportive environments that build self-esteem.
• Plan and implement curriculum for the program with child-centered, developmentally appropriate learning experiences.
• Conduct and record weekly child observations and address behavior concerns with parents/guardians.
• Communicate effectively with parents about children’s progress while maintaining confidentiality.
• Maintain daily attendance records, emergency contacts, allergy reports, and related paperwork.
• Ensure centers are stocked with quality learning materials and organized learning centers.
• Attend monthly team-planning meetings.
• Campaign for the Annual Campaign and help develop donors and volunteers.
