About the Role

The Child Care Cook, Food Specialist, is responsible for preparing nutritious meals for children in our care. The role involves adapting menus, meeting meal schedules, and ensuring health and safety standards are maintained.

Responsibilities
  • Create home-style, nutritional meal plans within the school's menu and budget, adhering to state and federal guidelines.
  • Prepare meals and snacks for children and staff, and distribute food to classrooms.
  • Follow daily menus provided by the Director, ensuring compliance with USDA, licensing, and health department regulations.
  • Maintain inventory and order supplies as needed.
  • Assist in classrooms as an Assistant Teacher/Floater when necessary.
Job Requirements
  • Experience in cooking or food preparation for groups, preferably in a childcare setting.
  • Willingness to learn and comply with all relevant regulations.
  • Flexible schedule and hours.
