Job summary

BrightPath Kids in Oxford is seeking a part-time Teacher Assistant to work 3:00 PM–6:00 PM, providing a home-away-from-home environment for children under guidance of teachers. Training is provided on all classroom procedures, and no prior classroom experience is required.

Responsibilities include assisting instruction, ensuring safety, decorating spaces, and communicating with families to support children's growth within NAEYC guidelines.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Ability to multitask and stay organized.
• Ability to work within regular operating hours.
• Must meet state criteria for child care employment.

Responsibilities

• Assist teachers with instruction and daily activities.
• Ensure the safety and supervision of children ages 6 weeks to 12 years.
• Decorate classrooms and maintain a welcoming environment.
• Communicate effectively with parents/guardians about their child.
• Support classroom procedures as part of paid training.

What will you be doing?

As a Teacher Assistant, you will work side-by-side with teachers and families to provide a home away from home for children in our care, according to NAEYC guidelines. Responsibilities include:

• Ensuring the safety and supervision of children ages 6 weeks - 12 years.
• Assisting teachers with instruction in the classroom.
• Decorating inside and outside of classrooms as needed.
• Maintaining a warm and safe environment that is clean and permits children to grow and explore.
• Interacting with children to encourage their involvement in activities.
• Providing effective communication with parents/guardians about their child.
