Job summary

PFH Preferred Family Healthcare seeks a dedicated Child Care Assistant to supervise and engage children in a safe, nurturing environment in Springfield, MO. You will support structured activities, assist with meals, and document daily progress for families.

The role emphasizes adherence to child care regulations, teamwork with the Childcare Lead Teacher, and ongoing training to promote child development and safety in a vibrant program.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; or 1–3 months related experience and/or training or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• CDA required.
• Must pass a background check (fingerprinting) for criminal history, abuse/neglect, and driving record.
• Current driver’s license and auto insurance with acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and engage with children in a safe and supportive environment.
• Facilitate lesson plans and structured activities as directed.
• Prepare meals per menu schedule.
• Communicate with parents about daily activities.
• Ensure compliance with regulations and procedures.
• Perform daily cleaning and maintain a neat classroom.
