Job summary

Tampa Family Health Centers is seeking a compassionate Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist to join our Behavioral Health team in Tampa, Florida. This role focuses on comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and collaborative treatment planning within an integrated health care model.

You will work with primary care physicians and a multidisciplinary team to deliver patient-centered care, with opportunities for teaching and clinical mentorship and NHSC loan repayment support.

Qualifications

• MD or DO from an accredited medical school.
• Completion of a General Psychiatry residency.
• Completion of a Child & Adolescent Psychiatry fellowship.
• Board certification or eligibility in CAADP.
• Current Florida medical license and DEA registration.
• Current BLS certification and ability to obtain hospital privileges.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and diagnostic assessments for children and adolescents.
• Diagnose and manage emotional, behavioral, and psychiatric disorders.
• Develop individualized treatment plans in collaboration with patients and families.
• Prescribe and manage psychiatric medications, monitoring effectiveness and side effects.
• Coordinate care with primary care physicians and other behavioral health professionals.
• Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment options, and medication management.
• Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic health record and participate in teaching activities.

• Prescribe and manage psychiatric medications, monitoring effectiveness and potential side effects.
• Coordinate care with primary care physicians and other behavioral health professionals.

• Order and review appropriate laboratory tests and diagnostic studies.
• Facilitate referrals for additional testing, specialty services, and follow-up care.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the electronic health record.
• Participate in peer review, quality improvement initiatives, and efforts to close patient care gaps.
• Support clinical education through periodic teaching and supervision of residents, medical students, and other healthcare professionals.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited medical school.
• Completion of a General Psychiatry residency.
• Completion of a Child and Adolescent Psychiatry fellowship.
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
• Current, valid Florida medical license.
• Current DEA registration.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Ability to obtain and maintain hospital privileges, if required.
