Job summary

Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago is seeking a licensed clinical social worker to support the Partial Hospitalization Program, delivering diagnostic evaluations, individual, family and group therapy, and comprehensive case management for pediatric patients.

The role requires an MSW from an accredited program, an Illinois LCSW license (or near-ready), and at least two years of health care or mental health experience.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in social work from university approved by the council for social work education is required.
• Minimum of two years of work experience or internship in health care, child welfare or mental health setting is required.
• Experience working with children and families is expected.
• Licensure: LCSW (Illinois) or within 3-6 months of licensure; Life Support Certification required.

Responsibilities

• Independently performs comprehensive diagnostic evaluations of children with psychiatric and behavioral needs.
• Provides individual, family and group therapy to children and families.
• Carries a caseload of 2-5 patients as primary therapist.
• Completes program intake evaluations 1-3 times per week.
• Collaborates with multi-disciplinary PHP team and leadership for patient care.
• Links patients and families to community resources and services.
• Maintains timely clinical documentation and discharge planning.
• Provides supervision and education to trainees and staff as assigned.
• Participates in rounds, meetings and multidisciplinary case conferences.
