Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and two years of responsible employment history.
• Experience in human services or related field preferred.
• Valid driver's license and a reliable vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Actively monitor assigned patients, attend to immediate needs, assist with daily living tasks, de-escalate volatile situations, enforce safety protocols, prevent self-harm attempts, and notify nursing staff or physicians of changes in condition.
• Plan, lead, and evaluate therapeutic recreation, leisure, and occupational therapy sessions to foster skill acquisition and coping abilities.
• Maintain clean, organized living spaces and promote prosocial behaviors in common areas and patient rooms.
• Accurately chart observations, interventions, and encounters in electronic health records or paper documentation.
• Collaborate with psychiatrists, registered nurses, social workers, psychotherapists, and other professionals to optimize holistic care and participate in discharge planning discussions.
• Implement components of individualized treatment plans under licensed practitioners, including milieu-based and adjunctive therapies.
• Educate clients on basic psychiatric concepts, recognition of symptoms, triggers, relapse prevention, and self-management techniques.
• Assist with discharge planning and linkages to community resources to support continuity of care.
• Prioritize self-care and resilience through mindfulness and stress-reduction practices to sustain high-quality engagement.
