Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a part-time Nursing Assistant to support patient care at 34907 Aurora Psychiatric Hospital - Behavioral Health: IU Child and Adolescent. You will assist with ADLs, monitor patients, and collaborate with RNs in a busy behavioral health unit.

The role requires CPI crisis intervention certification or ability to obtain within 90 days, BLS, and good verbal/written communication along with strong interpersonal skills.

Qualifications

• Nursing Assistant training completed in an accredited program.
• CPI Nonviolent Crisis Intervention with Advanced Physical Skills completed within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Assist, monitor and maintain patients' activities of daily living (ADLs).
• Orient patients and family to unit and hospital.
• Escort patients to tests, meals, and activities and supervise behavior.
• Perform vital signs and document observations in medical records.
• Receive directions from RN and report significant events.
• Defuse crises and intervene using proper procedures.
• Maintain safe therapeutic environment; assist with groups and set limits.
• Conduct patient rounding at designated intervals and document findings.
• Follow safety and risk management policies and procedures.
