Job description

Position Overview

The Department of Pediatrics at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine seeks a full‑time, non‑tenure‑eligible Associate Professor or Professor for the role of Division Head in the Division of Child Abuse Pediatrics.

The Division Head will lead all patient care, research, education, advocacy, and administrative aspects of the division’s work, defining and executing strategic imperatives in the clinical, research, education, and advocacy domains to identify and prevent child abuse.

Responsibilities

• Guide the division’s clinical needs and develop continued or expanded partnerships.
• Lead all research activities and grow the division’s research profile.
• Mentor faculty and fellows, supporting career growth and development.
• Ensure faculty participation in the division’s child‑abuse fellowship program and other medical education training programs.
• Represent the division in interactions with department leadership, hospital administration, external groups, and donors.
• Oversee divisional operational, philanthropic, and grant funding in partnership with the Division Administrator.

Qualifications

Qualified candidates should:

• Be board-certified in child abuse pediatrics.
• Possess outstanding clinical and teaching skills.
• Have accomplishments in child abuse pediatrics or maltreatment research, care delivery science, or related medical social‑science research.
• Demonstrate an interest in faculty and fellow mentorship.
• Be mid‑career faculty who may benefit from additional leadership support.

Compensation

Salary is commensurate with rank and experience, with an expected base pay range of $298,230 to $353,622. The start date is negotiable, and the position will remain open until filled.
