Job summary

Omega Management Group in Wichita, KS seeks a Chief Technician/Chief Engineer to lead operation, maintenance, and repair of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and life-safety systems. This role supervises technicians, coordinates contractors, and drives reliability while delivering excellent service to tenants and building occupants.

You will optimize energy use, enforce safety and codes, support budgeting and capital projects, and maintain records.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience with commercial building systems and facility operations.
• Extensive knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, controls, and mechanical systems.
• Experience leading maintenance teams and coordinating outside contractors.
• Ability to diagnose complex technical issues and implement effective solutions.

Responsibilities

• Lead the operation, maintenance, and repair of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, life-safety, and building automation systems.
• Manage preventive and predictive maintenance programs that maximize equipment reliability and performance.
• Supervise maintenance technicians, contractors, and specialty vendors.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex facility system issues while minimizing operational downtime.
• Optimize building performance, energy efficiency, and occupant comfort.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations, building codes, and environmental requirements.
• Support emergency response efforts and critical infrastructure readiness.
• Oversee equipment replacements, facility upgrades, and capital improvement projects.
• Maintain maintenance records, inspections, certifications, and compliance documentation.
• Assist with budgeting, capital planning, and long-term asset management strategies.
• Provide technical expertise and recommendations that improve operational performance and facility reliability.
